Celtic Crossings’ Irish History Program began as a series of  academic and community lectures in California.   Deconstructing myth from media and spotlighting the effects of the famine on Ireland’s musical County Clare, this popular Irish heritage program explored cultural  heritage  locally and globally.

1995 marked the 150th anniversary of the Great Famine of Ireland (1845-48).  Around the world, a veil of silence was finally being lifted on the true nature of the infamous Irish Diaspora.  Generations of Irish descendants were anxious to explore their true cultural inheritance.  Now 2016 marks Ireland’s centenary of the Irish rebellion which would lead to her eventual independence from England.

Programs included Irish genealogy assistance, educational outreach for schools, libraries and community groups, recording projects, media consultations and much more.
